Plants require a full spectrum to be the best they can be and reach their full genetic potential. The maxibright daylight LED unit produces a balanced white light that includes hues from across the spectrum and has been optimised with Far RED Osram LEDs to spur a massive yield. The unit also produces UV which helps improve quality.
The 660w Maxibright LED uses as much power as a traditional 600w HPS on overdrive but produces much more light which will show in your final yield. As well as more light produced by this unit, its also extremely uniform meaning there are no hotspots which will lead to equal canopy growth throughout your growing area. Some LED manufacturers use lenses to spread the light over the growing area, the Maxibright Daylight LED instead uses a ‘ladder’ design – spreading the individual chipsets over a wide footprint, allowing the fixture to be mounted closer to the canopy as the output is spread over a larger area, without hotspot directly under the lamp like on traditional fixtures. This enables your crop to be more uniform and achieve a higher yield.
Ladder style fixtures are well suited to vertical farming methods due to their low profile and low heat output – this style of fixture is increasingly popular among commercial, large scale operations, particularly in the USA.
The LED chipsets used are better at converting electricity to photons, so less power is wasted as heat. That means less heat to deal with in the grow-room so your fans won’t have to work as hard. If you’re running EC fans, you’ll reduce the running cost. The little heat the unit does create is dealt with by passive cooling fins with no moving parts or fans, meaning the fixture is less likely to fail.
