How Do I Daisy Chain My New SANlight LED? Interconnection Overview

Daisychain illustriation

There are loads of different connection options available for the SANlight EVO System. SANlight took the decision not to supply a power in the box for the range of EVO LEDs. This is to protect our planet from senseless pollution and save valuable resources. For you it means you get the flexibility to build a system tailored to your needs.

If space is limited, SANlight recommend using angled supply cables and extension cables. The table above outlines the cables you’ll need for many standard growing situations.

All connections made with SANlight products are IP65 certified (see below for more on IP65). This means that your SANlight System is protected against dust and water jets and is suitable for safe use even in high humidity situations.

Warning: To preserve IP65 protection all open connectors have to be closed with the EVO Protective Cap (including open connectors on the H Connector). The rating doesn’t include wall plugs or other non-SANlight electrical connections!

  1. First, connect the power supply cable to the luminaire.
  2. Insert the power plug into the socket.

Ready-to-Dim

Each model in the EVO series is “ready-to-dim”. This means the fixture is compatible with typical, modern greenhouse control systems.

Dimmer Options – Bluetooth or Magnetic

The EVO-Series allows you to retrofit a compatible EVO-Series magnetic or Bluetooth dimmer. Compared to mechanical rotary potentiometers, the new SANlight solid-state, magnetic and wireless Bluetooth dimmer solutions last longer. Being solid-state means they’re wear-free, sealed units. This makes them perfect for use in humid, greenhouse conditions with better water ingress protection.

Both magnetic and Bluetooth dimmers can be dimmed between 0 and 100%. The Bluetooth dimmer is controlled wirelessly via Bluetooth Mesh technology via the SANlight Mesh App.

The SANlight Mesh App makes it easy for you to control several EVO-Series light fixtures at once. The Mesh App allows you to group individual lights. This means you can control individual groups independently from each other. The app allows you to dim the meshed lights at the same time with one slider.

Bluetooth Stealth Mode

Leaving the magnetic key fob attached to the Bluetooth dimmer puts it into stealth mode, so it can’t be found by unwanted devices.

How Do I Fit a Dimmer to my SANlight EVO LED?

The dimmer and matching slot are marked in blue. Only use compatible SANlight dimmers in this slot.
