The FloraFlex® Air Bleed Valve (3/4”) should be installed at the highest point (above manifold) on any mainline to prevent air locks.
When water starts to flow, air is forced out of the Air Bleed Valve. When water hits the valve at a suitable pressure (above 5 PSI), the valve closes and water flows freely through the line. This ensures there’s no trapped air in the system so pressure is uniform and the amount of nutrient solution delivered to each manifold is equally consistent.
Using an air bleed valve on your flora flex system gives you more control over the accuracy of your feedings and ensures that your reservoir is not siphoned, regardless of its elevation.
