pH is the key that unlocks access to the nutrition. If your p.H fluctuates out of optimum levels, the plant can no longer uptake particular nutrients from the solution. For more on pH, read our buyers guide below.

Hydroponic pH Adjustment

Ph is one of the two main variables of water and nutrient managment, with the other being Electrical conductivity (E.C)

Pure water has a pH of 7.0 but plants do best in a range of 5.8 - 6.5. You'll find that the ph will drift up over time so you will need to periodically as pH down to bring it back to optimal levels.

The Graph below shows how nutrients availability changes as ph Drifts; for hydro applications a fluctuating ph of 6 - 6.5, will allow the plant to uptake all necessary elements.
