An indoor grow room is as healthy as you make it - we try to keep our gardens sterile but there are a number of different organisms trying to make a home in your plants. Luckily we carry a range of pest control products to help you prevent an infestation in the first place or directly combat them with remedial treatments.
When it comes to pest issues, prevention is better than cure. We recommend an integrated pest management program, in which you use several different products to periodically treat your plants to prevent any pests entering your space. Rotating the products you use for your pest management can reduce the likelihood of re-infestation due to tolerance to a particular product.
Gardeners should check their spaces at least once a week for pests and disease, as if they do enter your space, early detection can make treatment easier and will save your yield in the long run. You can also implement products that enable early detection such as yellow sticky traps, that stick to pests, allowing for easy detection.
Sprays should not be used on plants in flower. Moisture can easily become trapped between the forming flowers, providing a perfect breeding ground for botrytis which could destroy an entire crop.
Organic growers are increasingly using friendly insects in their battle against pests. Predator mites are the enemy of spidermites, feeding on all stages of development; they devour the spider mites and then migrate away from your space once the problem has been dealt with. Predator mites mean you won’t need to spray your crop with chemicals and can be used at any point during a plant's life-cycle.
Beneficial microbes are increasingly being used in both organic and mineral based gardens to increase the end results in terms of yield and quality. beneficial microbes presence on roots can also prevent detrimental microbes, such as pythium, from settling on plants.
- Bud rot (botrytis)
- Root rot (pythium)
- Powdery Mildew
- Leaf miners
Localised populations of some of these pests species may become immune to particular pesticides. Due to this, it’s a good idea to speak to us via
