Description

What is the Grow it Wooden Growhouse?

The Grow it Wooden Growhouse is easy to assemble, robust and provides the light and shelter young plants need. Use the Wooden Growhouse to protect young crops, plants and seedlings. Overwinter established semi-hardy pot plants, you don't want to leave to the elements.

These robust growhouses are great for all gardens and small spaces, like balconies and patios. Two slatted shelves aid drainage and the tough polycarbonate glazing keeps the wind and rain at bay. Built using FSC® certified wood. A hinged lid and two front doors allow you to ventilate your plants.

A growhouse means you can start seedlings and propagating young plants and cuttings earlier in the year. They also double up as a secondary greenhouse for growing tomatoes and cucumbers. Looked after, they offer you many seasons of service.

This compact growhouse has a small footprint (W 76 cm (30") x D 57 cm (22")) perfect for outdoor areas like balconies, patios and gardens.

The large, removable, slotted shelves hold up to six standard seed trays or for more variety, twelve half-size seed trays.

What Are the Benefits of Using a Wooden Growhouse?

Growhouses are multifunctional, offering protection from harsh late autumnal and winter weather. Used in conjunction with cold frames, they allow you to extend your gardening season:

  1. 1. Start your crops, plants and flowers earlier in the year by sowing your seeds, like chilli and tomato, inside.
  2. 2. Position cold frames where you intend to transplant the young plants to warm the ground.
  3. 3. When ready, transport them to the cold frame.

  4. Starting plants earlier means they are bigger, stronger and easier to harden off when you're ready to put them in their final position in the spring. Bigger plants offer better stress resistance and give you more flowering sites for larger yields, earlier in the season.

    Garden tip:

    • Gardeners use cold frames to extend their gardening season, in the autumn to protect plants for a few more weeks and in the spring to get a jumpstart on sowing seeds. Cold frames protect plants from unpredictable weather and retain heat. Cold frames are also used to “harden off” seedlings that were started indoors.
