What Are Westland Organic Chicken Manure Pellets?

Westland Organic Chicken Manure Pellets are the ideal soil improver. They are ideal for scattering on top of the soil and hoeing or raking in to provide a nitrogen boost. Also used in the planting hole when planting anything from flowers to shrubs in beds and borders. They are also great for feeding established plants.

Chicken Manure is an effective non-chemical fertiliser and is a useful source of nitrogen. Nitrogen is the main nutrient your plants require for healthy green foliage and strong root growth. Well fed plants develop quicker, become stronger and are less prone to stress and disease.

When Should I Use Organic Chicken Manure Pellets?

The best times to apply organic chicken manure pellets is in the autumn when preparing winter beds or early in spring as a base fertiliser, when preparing your beds for planting. It is recommended to apply an additional feed 3 to 4 weeks after planting to ensure a top quality and healthy yield.

Garden tip:

  • Use an occasional handful of Westland organic chicken manure pellets in your compost to add some nitrogen to your compost heap. The pellets help to break your composted matter into soil. As part of the process, the nitrogen balances to a level that's safe for your garden. After adding pellets, water thoroughly and turn the compost every few weeks to get air into the pile.

How Do I Use Organic Chicken Manure Pellets?

All organic fertilisers depend on contact with moisture and soil to naturally break down. The process of breaking down releases the nutrients locked up in the pellets, helping to enhance the fertility of your soil.

For the best results, the pellets should be worked into the soil with a hoe or rake. During dry weather, water before sowing seeds and after planting.

Apply pellets several days before sowing seeds or planting out small/sensitive plants.

Plant Aftercare

Check your vegetables weekly after planting. Keep a lookout for signs of yellowing or poor growth and apply All-Purpose Plant Food to ensure fuller, tastier crops and high yielding vegetables.
