What Is The Charles Taylor Log Store?

The Charles Taylor Log Store is a functional garden storage unit. It is perfect for storing, and seasoning, quantities of logs and kindling for use with log burners in your home.

The stylish, wooden log stores are perfect for adding an attractive storage solution to your garden. Log stores are available in three different sizes to suit your needs.

The log store is constructed to keep logs dry, and off the floor, avoiding the wood standing in water. A separate kindling storage layer is situated under the sloped roof. The sides are open to allow good air-flow, which is necessary to season fresh logs, preparing them for use.

What Is Seasoned Wood?

Seasoned wood is wood that has been dried to remove as much of its moisture content as possible. In general, it's best to only burn wood with a maximum of 20% moisture. Seasoned wood increases the efficiency of combustion, with more heat generated from each log. This means you'll use fewer logs.

By seasoning your firewood, you give it time to evaporate most of the moisture off before you use it. The result is a cleaner, more efficient fuel to burn on your fire. Seasoned wood burns cleaner, with lower emissions, and producing fewer particles to your local environment.

Why Should I Only Burn Dry Seasoned Wood?

Keeping your seasoned logs and kindling dry is important. Damp wood burns at a cooler temperature, resulting in incomplete combustion. This results in more smoke, and, over time, a dangerous creosote build-up in the chimney, which creates a fire hazard. Excess wood smoke also decreases your local air quality, both inside and outside the home, which may contribute to breathing issues. Keep your wood dry with the Charles Taylor Log Store to avoid burning wet or unseasoned wood.

How Long Does It Take To Season Firewood?

On average, it takes around 6-months to dry out the cut-firewood that you purchased from a store or supplier. Unless it's guaranteed to have a set moisture content, like Homefire kiln dried logs firewood will benefit from seasoning time/storage in a log store.

Garden tip: Depending on the original timber's moisture content, it may take more or less time to season.

Standard UK mainland orders over £50.00 are eligible for a free standard next working day delivery service (Mon – Fri)*.

  • *Free delivery includes orders up to, and not exceeding, 30kg, that fit in a single, standard shipping box.
  • *Free delivery may exclude orders containing one or more large volume items. Examples of large volume items are, but are not limited to, bags of media (clay balls, perlite, soil etc.).

  • *Large items are sent via a standard 48L (48 hour large) service. Large items take from 2 working days to arrive.

As per the Consumer Contract Regulations June 2014, you can return goods and receive a full refund under the following conditions:

  • You have had the goods delivered within seven working days of delivery from Future Garden Ltd, this starts from the day after the goods have been signed for.
  • The items are unopened and in the original condition as when they were delivered to you.


  • The items have developed a fault during standard use.
  • The items are within the manufacturer's warranty period.
