What Grow Lamps Can I Use In The Loadstar 600W Digital Ballast?
The Loadstar 600W Digital Ballast is perfect for firing bulbs up to 600W. This unit is best with High Pressure Sodium (HPS) or Metal Halide (MH) lamps. It gives you the power to choose the type of lamp you use to give them the light spectrum plants need for their stage of growth.
Are Digital Ballasts Cheaper To Run Versus Magnetic Ballasts?
Digital ballasts save you electricity. Digital ballasts don't waste much power as heat or to resistance when compared to magnetic ballasts. This is because digital ballasts are electronically controlled, so much more efficient.
How to Use Your Loadstar 600W Digital Ballast
The Loadstar 600W Digital Ballast is easy to use:
- Plug the power cable in to the ballast.
- Connect the reflector (with lamp installed) to the ballast.
- Plug the ballast in to a suitable plug socket and switch it on.
The Loadstar digital ballast has 4x dimming options. This provides you with ultimate control of the bulb you use and how much light intensity your garden receives.
Garden tip: While you can power your 600W lamp at a lower, dimmed setting, we recommend that you purchase a lamp for the exact wattage you intend to drive it at. Never run a low wattage bulb at a higher wattage than it’s been designed for.
Caution: Only run 600W lamps with the x-boost superlumen feature. There is a risk that lower wattage bulbs may explode.
We do not recommend running your 600W lamps on lower wattage settings. Bulbs are calibrated to run at set currents. The spectral output can shift with the change in power, and the light produced may not work as intended. Always use the correct power setting for your bulb.
Garden tip: When installing your indoor garden, keep all electrics above waist height and all water below it. This helps to reduce the chance of accidents when the two mix.
Use a Maxiswitch Pro Solo Timer to control your light regime for one light fixture, but you’ll need a contactor for more than one light, as it’s safer from an electrical standpoint.
Metal halide lamps are not suitable for 660W x-boost super-lumens feature.

As per the Consumer Contract Regulations June 2014, you can return goods and receive a full refund under the following conditions:
- You have had the goods delivered within seven working days of delivery from Future Garden Ltd, this starts from the day after the goods have been signed for.
- The items are unopened and in the original condition as when they were delivered to you.
or
- The items have developed a fault during standard use.
- The items are within the manufacturer's warranty period.
