WHAT ARE THOMPSON AND MORGAN THOMPSON TOMATO SUNGOLD F1 HYBRID SEEDS?
Tomato 'Sungold' has an incredibly high sugar content that easily rivals 'Gardeners Delight' and makes its appealing, golden-orange fruit irresistibly sweet and succulent. The high yields of delectable thin-skinned fruit are the perfect addition to salads or sandwiches or can be used as a garnish or a snack.
The 'Sungold' variety also comes with resistance to the tobacco mosaic virus and fusarium wilt. A robust nature guarantees this hardy performer will crop well into winter when grown in a cool greenhouse. Using extensive field and garden trials by horticulturists and customers' feedback, this variety has been awarded a 'Grow the Best' rosette with confidence. Expect plant heights of 200cm (79") and a spread of 50cm (20").
Garden tip: Great for companion planting. Try growing tomatoes with French marigolds, basil, chives or mint to pests such as aphids and whitefly.
HOW DO I SOW THOMPSON & MORGAN THOMPSON TOMATO SUNGOLD F1 HYBRID SEEDS
For greenhouse cultivation: sow from February to April. For outdoor cultivation: sow from March to April.
- Sow seeds on the surface of a good, free-draining, damp, seed sowing mix and cover with a fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite.
- Place seed trays in a propagator at a constant temperature of around 15-20C (59-68F) until germination occurs. This should take 7-14 days.
- When seedlings gain 2 true leaves, transplant into individual 7.5cm (3") pots of compost and grow on at a minimum temperature of 15C (59F).
- Gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 - 10 days before planting out from early June when tomato plants are 20cm (8") tall.
- Choose a sheltered position in full sun on fertile, reliably moist, well-drained soil, and transplant at 60cm (24") apart.
- Drive a (5') cane into the soil adjacent to each plant to support them as they grow and tie each main stem to its support with soft garden twine.
Garden Tip: Tomato plants need a lot of water and feed to produce a bountiful crop. For best results you should water little and often. One good idea is to leave a few watering cans full of water to warm up in the greenhouse, so the water is not so cold that it shocks your plants.
Garden Tip: It has been said that watering your tomatoes at the same time each day makes a significant difference to the quality of the crop! Feed your tomatoes with a general feed until the first truss has formed, then alternate with a high potash feed to encourage bigger and better fruits.

- You have had the goods delivered within seven working days of delivery from Future Garden Ltd, this starts from the day after the goods have been signed for.
- The items are unopened and in the original condition as when they were delivered to you.

- The items have developed a fault during standard use.
- The items are within the manufacturer's warranty period.
