What is the Trolmaster Quantum Full Spectrum Light Sensor?

The Full Spectrum Quantum Sensor (MBS-PAR) provides a precise and cost-efficient measurement of the Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) from your grow room grow lights.

The TrolMaster Full Spectrum Quantum Sensor is compatible with the TrolMaster Hydro-X Controller.

This full spectrum quantum sensor has a spectral range of 389 to 692 nm ± 5 nm. An improved spectral response increases the accuracy of LED measurements.

What Are the Features and Benefits of the Trolmaster Quantum Sensor?

Plug & Play

The Trolmaster Quantum Sensor comes complete with everything you need to get your grow light’s PAR up to par. The package includes:

  • 1 x Full-Spectrum Quantum Sensor
  • 1 x 1/2" Post Clamp
  • 1 x 4ft RJ12 Cable
  • 1 x RJ12 T-Splitter
  • 2 x 1/2" End Cap

How Does the Trolmaster Quantum Sensor Work?

Used with the Hydro-X controller, the PPFD sensor will automatically increase or decrease the output level of your supplemental lights. This works to continuously maintain your exact pre-configured lighting level (in PPFD).

Garden tip: Prevent damage to the PPFD sensors by keeping them dry and clean. Don’t spray foreign substances on or around the sensors or allow water to condensate on them.

Why Should I Use the Trollmaster Hydro-X System?

The Hydro-X Control System is the most intelligent and adaptable environmental control system on the market.

Hydro-X Controllers can control up to:

  • 512x lights
  • 4x Temperature devices
  • 2x Humidity device
  • 2x CO2 devices
  • 9x Pre-program devices

The Hydro-X control system is the best way to customize and control your indoor garden for maximum yield.

The Hydro-X system comes with a 3-in-1 sensor detecting temperature, humidity & light. The system will alert you via the Trolmaster App on your Smartphone when any of these factors are out of your pre-set ranges. An optional CO2 sensor and smoke sensor are also available.

What are PAR and PPFD?

Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR)

Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) is a measure of the quantity of plant-accessible light that a grow light emits. PAR is a measure of light emission within the photosynthetic range of 400 - 700 nm.

PAR is measured by the number of micromoles of light per square meter per second your Grow light gives off. This is the valuable area of light that plants use to perform photosynthesis and, as a result, grow strong and healthy. Therefore the higher the PAR, the better.

PAR is not where it ends, though. PPFD and PAR are seen as interchangeable terms. However, there is a difference. PAR is the amount of proper light that your lamps produce.

Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD)

Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD) is measured by how much light your plant receives

PPFD is expressed as the micromole-per-meter squared-per second (μmol/m2/s). It is the only measurement that notifies you of the exact amount of plant–accessible light that aids photosynthesis that is being delivered to your crop.

Light meters that will tell you the available PAR and PPFD.

Garden tip: PPFD is currently considered the best measure to compare grow lights in the market.

The Trolmaster Quantum Sensor works to continuously maintain your desired lighting level in PPFD. This means that your plants receive the optimum amount of usable light at all times.
