The plants grow up to a height of 3 metres and spread of 45 cm (18”).

Garden tip: When growing cucumbers, harvest regularly to encourage, long continuous production. Pick the fruits while young and tender, before they show signs of producing seeds. Older fruits can become bitter. Harvesting cucumbers is best done early in the morning when temperatures remain cool.

Cucumber Growing Tips

Water cucumber plants regularly. Apply greenhouse shading as required and create a humid atmosphere by regularly spraying or damping down pathways.

Garden tip: To easily create humidity in your greenhouse, position a large tray in a sunny position in the greenhouse and fill with layers of clay balls. Use a fine spray gun or watering can rose to add water to the tray and keep it moist. As the sun warms the clay balls, water will naturally evaporate, creating a humid atmosphere perfect for growing/developing plants.

How Do I Train Cucumber Plants On a Support Structure?

Train the main shoots onto 1.8 metre (6ft) high plant support nets, canes or plant support yo-yo strings until they reach the top of their support.
Then pinch out the growing point.
Pinch out side-shoots when fruit begins to develop, leaving two leaves after each fruit.

Sowing Cucumber Seeds

Sow seeds in 9 cm (33cl) plant pots at a depth of 6 mm (1/4 in) in free-draining, seed compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator 20C (68F) until germination which takes 7-10 days. Protect the emerging seedlings from direct sunlight to avoid scorching. Grow Cucumber plants on until they are large enough to be transplanted. Maintain a minimum temperature of 15c (60F) and keep the compost moist but not wet.

Greenhouse cucumbers must be grown in a warm, humid greenhouse with a minimum temperature of 15C (60F).

Sow Cucumber seeds from March to May for indoor cropping and for transplanting outdoors later on. Outdoor varieties may also be direct sown outdoors from May to early June.

When cucumber plants are well grown, transplant them at a spacing of 2 plants per grow bag, or 45 cm (18") apart in a warm, humid greenhouse.

As per the Consumer Contract Regulations June 2014, you can return goods and receive a full refund under the following conditions:

You have had the goods delivered within seven working days of delivery from Future Garden Ltd, this starts from the day after the goods have been signed for.
The items are unopened and in the original condition as when they were delivered to you.
