What Is The Maxibright Powerhouse 4-Way Contactor?

The Maxibright Powerhouse Lighting Contactor is a light control unit made and assembled in the UK, to strict European CE standards. Built with Heavy Duty GE Contactors that protect the timer to ensure accurate lighting control.

Maxibright Powerhouse 4-Way Contactor Features

Maxibright Powerhouse Control Unit's have independent switches on each power socket. The units use a Maxibright Precision Timer and are encased in a durable metal casing, that you can wall or pole mount.

The extra, dedicated heater socket allows you to configure a heater trigger before the lights go out, to help avoid mould and mildew problems – few other contactors offer this function.

These contactors are available as 4, 6, or 8 socket versions (plus the extra socket for heater).

Why Use Maxibright Powerhouse 4-Way Contactor

Garden tip: High capacity contactors have 2x input plugs to distribute the electrical load. Always connect to independent 13 amp sockets. Never plug these contactors into multi-plugs or similar.

This professional, grow lighting contactor, allows you to control the connected lighting by turning it on and off at set intervals, using the integrated timer, or manually using the individual switches.

When the lights are off the heater socket is activated. The heater socket allows the use of up to a 2 kW Greenhouse Heater, oil filled radiator or similar to avoid low temperatures during lights off. The heater socket can also be used to control anything up to 2kw, that you want on during the dark period, such as a dehumidifier.

A Lighting Contactor with Heating Output

With a ‘Heat’ output included on all models in the range, the Maxibright contactor allows you to maintain consistent environmental conditions in your indoor garden. Consistent heat avoids stressing your plants, resulting in uniform crops between cycles, regardless of outdoor temperatures.

Running a heater during the plants ‘night’ cycle dramatically reduces chances of mould taking hold, as temperatures drop when the lights go out, humidity rises which can precipitate water droplets onto dense plant parts. Trapped water droplets provide the perfect environment for mould and bacteria, which can cause a complete loss of your crop. MAxibright contactor’s ‘flip-flop’ power between lighting fixtures and heat output, so when the lights go out, the heat comes on.

If you’re setting up a medium scale garden, or anything with more than 1 x 600 W grow light, you'll need a contactor to safely ignite HID light fixtures, with a greatly reduced chance of electrical faults developing.

Garden tip: It is recommended to mount electrical components (ballasts/contactors/cables/etc.) outside the growing area. If not, ensure they are above waist height, to dramatically lower the chance of, or prevent, water going anywhere near your electrics.

How to Use A MaxiBright PowerHouse Contactor:

Complete user instructions are included with the contactor.

The unit is easy to install and comes ready to plug and play. The integral mounting bracket makes installation easy.

The timer’s dial is easy to use with each tappet representing 15-minute increments of a 24-hour period. Simply slide the tappets into the on position for the duration you require your lights to be on; power diverts to the heater socket when the lights are off.

We recommend using an Air Comfort Wireless Thermohygrometer to monitor peaks in temperature. This allows you to react to any drastic environmental changes. Graphical logging functionality allows you to easily see when environment events take place.
